Q: What is the maximum weight your forklifts can handle?

A: Our forklifts’ optimal lift weight is 1.5 tonnes. However, they can lift up to 2 tonnes if required. Keeping the pallet or crate weight to 1.5 tonnes or below will maximise the chances of us being able to complete your delivery. Heavy loads can cause issues for the forklifts on hilly or complex sites, and may prevent delivery from being completed.

Q: What is the maximum weight your trucks can handle?

A: Our trucks can carry a maximum of 22 tonnes with a forklift on board, which usually equates to 18 pallets/crates or 192 concrete sleepers. If your delivery consists of more than a full truckload, we will not charge you the delivery minimum on the second load.

Q: What is the minimum access required for your forklift to enter a site or garage?

A: All delivery points must have clear access at least 2.0 metres wide and 2.2 metres high to allow for access via all-terrain forklift. If a site does not have clear access, or is excessively steep, the driver will deem the delivery point unsafe and will place the product as close as possible to the desired delivery point. If you have a height clearance of between 2.0m – 2.2m high, you can request a low clearance forklift at no extra charge.

Q: Why can’t I book a delivery for today?  The date is greyed out on the Booking Form!

A: Our trucks are scheduled each day to perform pick-ups and deliveries all over the state.  It is not possible to book a same-day delivery online.  However, should your delivery be urgent, please phone our office on 0438 774 965 and we will do our very best to accommodate your request. Please note that if we are able to perform a same-day delivery, an extra charge may apply (due to the disruption to our daily schedule).

Q: Do you deliver on weekends?

A: No. Our trucks run Monday to Friday only.

Q: What is your cutoff time for next-day delivery?

A: The cutoff time for booking next-day deliveries is 4pm the weekday prior, or 4pm on the Saturday prior for Monday deliveries. You are still able to request a delivery after the cutoff time, but please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request, and a late booking fee may apply.

Q: I’ve made a mistake on the online booking form!  What can I do?

A: If you have made an error in an online booking that has already been submitted, please phone our office on 0438 774 965 and we will be able to make any changes to the booking for you.

Q: How do I make changes to a delivery I’ve already submitted online?

A: To make changes to an existing delivery booking, please forward your original booking confirmation email to us at matt@rbtransport.com.au and we will be able adjust the booking information for you. To make changes to an existing delivery booking on the day of delivery, please phone our office on 0438 774 965 and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Additional charges may apply.

Q: How do I cancel a delivery I have already submitted online?

A: To cancel an existing delivery booking, please forward your original booking confirmation email to us at matt@rbtransport.com.au requesting a cancellation. To cancel to an existing delivery booking on the day of delivery, please phone our office on 0438 774 965 and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Additional charges may apply.

Q: What instructions should I include on my delivery booking?

A: Clear delivery instructions are of particular importance to us.  If the site contact isn’t contactable on the day, detailed instructions will enable us to make a judgement call on whether or not the driver can still complete the delivery to your satisfaction, and thus potentially avoiding a re-delivery charge.  Please include as much detail as possible on your delivery form.  It is useful to state whether the site will be unattended (if so, please detail site access and pallet placement instructions to save confusion), attended all day, or if the recipient needs to be contacted half an hour prior to delivery to give instructions or ensure access to the site.

Q: What time will my delivery arrive on site?

A: RBT trucks perform many deliveries all around the country each day.  It is therefore not possible to specify the exact time you would like your delivery to arrive.  However, we are able to provide a minimum of half an hour’s notice prior to the driver arriving to your site on the day of your delivery. PLEASE NOTE that we cannot guarantee nor provide a delivery time in the days prior to your delivery.  You are welcome to contact our office on the day of delivery to ask for an ETA for the driver. It is important to note that each ETA is an estimation to the best of our knowledge based on the existing delivery schedule. Please be aware that delays to our schedule are often out of our control and may affect your quoted ETA. We are not obligated to contact you to inform you of disruptions to our schedule that may affect your delivery on the day.

Q: Can I request an AM or PM delivery?

A: RBT trucks perform many deliveries all around the country each day.  It is therefore not possible to specify the exact time you would like your delivery to arrive.  However, you may note your preference of AM or PM in your delivery instructions when making your booking, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.  Please note that additional charges may apply for pre-loading the day before to ensure we can meet a request for an early morning delivery or for a delivery at a pre-arranged time.
